LATEST NEWS

New Notice Board at Old Cantley

A new bespoke notice board is now in place with a small stone planter as it was necessary to remove the old plant trough to make way for the larger notice board. It is hoped residents of Old Cantley will enjoy the improved provision of information.

Basket Ball Facilities

Arrangements are being made for a basket ball to be installed on the hard standing area adjacent to the ball wall at the Kilham Lane recreation ground for the enjoyment of young people.

Parking on Pavements

Residents are again requested to refrain from parking on pavements in order to keep pedestrians safe by not obstructing the footpaths.

Dog Control Order – Kilham Lane Recreation Ground

As no representations were received regarding the introduction of a Dog Control Order at the above site the parish council agreed its introduction with effect from 1 November 2011.  As a consequence it is an offence for anyone to allow a dog to enter the site unless any of the exceptions contained within the order apply. A copy of the order can be viewed on the council’s website or obtained from the Clerk.

DMBC’s Core Strategy Document

The parish council has considered representations relating to a section of the strategy (Policy No. 13) that relates to the provision of gypsy and traveller sites and has expressed concern that the policy seems to favour the establishment of sites in areas where other development may be restricted. The council has also supported DMBC’s proposal for changes to national planning policy to seek a more equitable distribution of traveller sites.

Request for Old Photographs of the Parish

The parish council’s website has attracted many favourable comments since its inception and requests have been received for more old photographs to be added. If anyone has any photographs that would be of local interest please contact the Clerk.
